I am trying to take off the power steering pump on my 1997 Chevy Malibu. 3.1L V-6. I cant figure it out. I would appreciate the steps to get it off to put a new one on. Thanks.

Removal & Installation

Removal & Installation Remove serpentine belt. Remove or reposition, as necessary, coolant reservoir, idler pulley, power steering pump pulley and strut housing tie bar. Disconnect pressure and return lines from pump, and plug all openings. On vehicles with pump adapter, disconnect return line from pump adapter using Quick Connect Separator (J-36391). On all vehicles, remove pump mounting bolts. Remove pump adapter (if equipped). Remove pump. To install, reverse removal procedure. Fill and bleed hydraulic system. See HYDRAULIC SYSTEM BLEEDING under LUBRICATION.
