i have a 1979 chevy impala it won't go into any drives only goes into neutral and reverse. i put 3 bottles of transmission fluid in it and it still wont do anything

how long did you wait after
how long did you wait after adding oil with it in drive?
if it was low enogh for the torque converter to airagate, it may take a min. or so to fill agin and cuppul to the engin.
once it's filled and you feel the gear come on, put it in park with engin idling and recheck the fluid level.
there is also a chance that with the low fluid the forward clutch is burnd up, that's why i asked about the color of the oil, burnt clutches cause a dark oil.
also did you try it in manual low/ number one on the gear ind.?
