I have a 1998 Ford Contour with a 4cyl 'Zetec' engine. All info tells me the EGR valve should be found on the intake manifold. Also a line from the exhaust manifold to the EGR but I cant find either ANYWHERE.So Where is it?

You're right as far as the
You're right as far as the location of the EGR goes. Rest asured that the exhaust manifold is there. If it wasn't there your car wouldn't start or run. Not being able to find the exhaust manifold tells me that you should get the car to a pro who can help you. Another route you can take, is to "Google" the exhaust manifold for your car. From there take a look at some images of the manifold. For that matter do the same with the EGR. Seeing images of both will help you locate them both.

Description and Operation
Description and Operation
EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION SYSTEM .
This vehicle does not use an ERG Valve or Differential Pressure Sensor.
The use of the new variable camshaft timing optimize the combustion procedure by improving gas exchange in the cylinders. As a result of this the exhaust emissions regulations can be met without the use of a pulse air system or an Exhaust Gas Recirculation system.
