I have a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue with app. 52,000 original miles on it and I just had the oil changed and the service engine soon light came on a few weeks after the oil change and shows an oil can. How do you turn it off ?

One other thing; have the computer codes checked at autozone or somewhere that does it for free. The service engine soon light indicates that the computer has noticed a emissions related problem. Post the computer code here--so that we can help you diagnose it (if necessary), before you purchase any parts.

look around where they did the oil change to see if a wire or some thing got knocked off, or just bring it back to who did the work and let them fix it.

that oil can light indicates
that oil can light indicates that you are low on oil (I believe that's the light you are talking about). If so, there must be an oil leak. in that case take it back to the shop which did the oil change and have them to correct the problem (it's very likely something they did--by accident).
