i have a 2001 chrsler voyager van 3.3 engine and i have no idea where the starter is. my battery is good but my car starts when it wants to. i have to turn my key a few times before it starts. i know eventually it will start but this is not normal.

follow the positive battery

follow the positive battery cable from the battery to the starter (on the radiator side bottom of the engine, where the transmission and engine bolt together).

when you turn your key does the engine spin over or do you get nothing (no clicking sound, no dash lights, etc)?

Mauwakin,

Your statement is below.

i have to turn my key a few times before it starts.

You gotta better define starts. In other words does the engine crank every time you turn the key, or will it not even crank, or does it crank only a few times? Here's an example. If you turn the key to start the van 10 times, will it crank all 10 times and not turn over, or will it crank any number less than 10 times. I hope I'm making myself clear. We need to know if it cranks and won't start, or if it's not even crankin?
