Try wiggling the turn signal
Try wiggling the turn signal switch tosee if that gets them working. Post your results here.
If wiggling the turn signal
If wiggling the turn signal switch works, you'll have to replace the switch (not very hard). As a matter of fact the following website has step by step instructions (with pictures) on the process.

I agree with bfree. The turn signal (multi function) switch is a common problem. If you have signal going from the brake switch to the turn signal switch and not from the turn signal switch to the brake lights this is probably it. The brake switch sends signal straight to the high mount brake light but goes through the turn signal switch for the main brake lights.

the left side should have a yellow wire (stop and turn signal power wire) and a Brown wire (tail light power); the black wire if the ground wire.
the right side should have a Green wire (stop and turn signal power wire) and a Brown wire (tail light power); the black wire if the ground wire.
check for power on the yellow and the green wires with the brake pedal depressed. if not power there, check the brake light switch pocated on the brake pedal arm. It should be adjusted so that the plunger comes out when the brake pedal is depressed and is fully pushed in when the pedal is released.
