I have an 03 Ford Explorer and the heat doesn't work. When I turn the thermostat knob to the hot side it makes a tapping noise and doesn't get hot. What may be my problem?

sounds like problem is with the blend door under dash.

lightly feel of your heater hoses and see if they are hot, if not check your thermostat.
