need to know if it has fed. or ca. emmissions and what type transmission, man. or auto.?

IT's not Calif. and it has an aoto tranny. I think what's confusing me is that someone put a vacuum tree at the back of the intake manifold and ran some hoses to things like the vacuum advance that should come from the carb. The other thing is that chiltons doesn't show "any" diadrams for a '76 and the '77 they reference doesn't have as many ports as the carb on my truck. The carb I have is a quadrajet, 4 barrel. I hope this helps, i'm desperate to get this truck running right before the cold weather sets in. Thanks!!!!

are you hooking up all vacuum

are you hooking up all vacuum lines or are you connecting something specific?

Let me know and I'll give you the info.

I'm not hooking anything up

I'm not hooking anything up except the vacuum lines that are original. I think what's confusing is that someone put a vacuum tree in the intake and hooked up things like the vacuum advance which should be comming from the carb. The chiltons manual does "not" show a '76 model. It starts at '77 and says they should be simular. They are but the quadrajet (4 barrel) on my truck has more ports that the carb pictured in the manual. This is a federal , not California, truck with a 350 and auto tranny. Thanks for your help.

Vacuum advance on distributor

Vacuum advance on distributor goes to the lowest vac. port on front passenger side of carb. (above that port is another port which goes to the upper front choke pull-off--aka dashpot).

Lower rear (passenger side) vac. port goes to the upper rear choke pull-off.

front left (driver's side) vac port usually goes to a thermostatic vacuum switch on the thermostat housing, where it branches off to the EGR and the EFE switch(on the exhaust--passenger side between exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe).

PCV vac port (large port) is in the middle front (and bottom) of carb

If you have other vac ports or if this doesn't seem right let me know where they are located on the carb and I'll try to get info to you.

*** Transmission vacuum should come from a port screwed into the rear of the intake manifold just behind the carb.
