There’s a speed sensor in the

There’s a speed sensor in the transmission for the speedometer and then a second speed sensor in the speedometer to tell the “PCM” computer how fast your going. From what I've seen its usually the speedometer itself that fails. One little trick that may help diagnose the problem is when the speedometer stops working, hit the top of the dashboard hard a few times. If the speedometer starts working again, even for a short time the speedometer itself is defective.
