Isuzu Trooper cowl
How do you remove the wiper cowl on the 2001 Isuzu trooper?
I've removed the wipers and the screws from the firewall but there are 3 clips that won't release underneath the cowl?
Thank you, Matt

MB,
The dealer wants to sell clips and tools :-). In other words there is a procedure for removin those clips, but the procedure calls for buyin a special tool (from the dealer) where else? for removin the clips. Problem is even with the procedure and the tool the clips end up breakin more than 80% of the time. I always just break them to begin with, and then just take the cowl off. I break them with a long skinny flat tip screwdriver that I put through the vents of the cowl, then I just work the screwdriver into the clip, and then just move the driver around till it breaks the clip. For replacement clips (don't go to a dealer) because you're gonna get ripped off. You can buy the same clips (at a fraction of the cost), made buy a company called "HELP". You can find HELP products at any Pep Boys store.

That helps incredibly. I'll try the driver method to break the clips off.
I called Carquest in my town and they do carry HELP so now I can hopefully find the replacement clips.
Will let you know of my success.
cheers
You are right, you do have
You are right, you do have the destroy the clips (5 in total) to get the cowl off. Note motormite wiper bushings 49445 do reconnect the linkage on the Isuzu trooper (2001). Well I put everything back together and decided not even to bother buying new clips. Everything seats in place fine. As long as it looks fine and stays on...it works for me.

(You Said) You are right,
You forgot to say I was right the first time :-) Note that being right "The First Time" is something I'm very good at, and have been doing for decades :-) :-).

You never mentioned wiper bushings in your original question. You're only concern was how to get the cowl off. Had you made it clear that you needed bushings as well I would have recommended the same motormite product you bought.
HERE'S MORE FOR ME TO BE RIGHT ABOUT!!!!
You should put back 5 new clips. Leaving them off is not an option since they were there to begin with.
Cheers
