Ive got a 2001 Honda Civic Ex Coupe and about a week ago, it got to where it wouldnt shift up or down. but i can drive it if i shift manually. i was told it was the torque converter clutch solenoid and i need to know where it is located...

yes the check engine light is on. I hooked it up to a scanner and it said it was the solenoid. i just need to make sure where it is located because some have it on the top of the tranny and some toward the bottom

the lock up code is for the torque converter so it realy cann't change a shift point. but if it is a converter slip problem ,the computer will put the transmission into limp mode" fail safe ", and it only will shift manuely. you are looking at going to a transmission shop. best i can tell you is, if fluid is clean you donn't need a complete overhaul. based on the code, converter and solinoid replacement.
