My 98 cadillac seville sts started clicking when I would go to start it and then it would start, now it just clicks when I turn it over, if it is the starter, where is it located and is it accesssible without tearing half the engine apart?

I tried to jump it and It got
I tried to jump it and It got no connection from under the hood, so I went straight to the battery under the rear seat and it showed a connection, All electrical works exept for engaging starter and the jump start connections under the hood,I am thinking its the solenoid which i beleive is on the top of the starter which I cant locate. Would it start if it was being jumped by another car then die when it was disconnected?
