no, if the valve was the cause of the check eng. light, after 3-4 good drive cycles the ecm will then shut it back off. does that answer your question? mws919
yes, that answers my question, thanx, but unfortunately doesn't help me. last year i had the check engine lite come on and the shop replaced the egr valve, to pass an emissions test, but the check engine lite came back on not long after, now i have a p401 code insufficient egr flow, any ideas
thanx for help
what that code means is that the ecm is not seeing a change in the short term fuel adaptive during a egr test. in most cases it's either a carbon build up in the egr system or a leak in the system. what size engin?
3.1
let me look into it, i'll get back to you with some checks and pics.
there must be a build up of corbon in the passage way/tube. that's all i keep comming up with with out reading it with scan tool. check it and make sure the gasket is sealing ok.
i've removed the egr valve and it's dusty at worst after being installed for a year, now how do you remove the tube from the backside of the engine? it i turn the fitting will it twist the tube or will the fitting spin around the tube
hey i'll post you the comp. info tomarow on egr replacement. mws919
