power steering

I have a 1999 Acura TL having issues with the power steering fluid seems to be leaking but more like blowing out. I have check for kinks and leaks in the line. I have thought about replacing the power steering motor but not sure if that is the problem. I also bought the power steering fluid from a Honda dealer.

Rjm, What's goin on man how

Rjm,

What's goin on man how are you? You gotta try to pinpoint the leak first. Note, that usin "Tracer Dye" can really help with that. Don't just go replacin the pump like that. From what you're describin, it sounds like a high pressure hose to me. Here's a helpful link.

I'm going to look in to that

I'm going to look in to that thanks. Also, Could the leak be power steering fluid coming right back out of the reservoir. when I turn the wheel there is a terrible noise. What could be the trouble please?

rjm, Based on your last

rjm,

Based on your last answer you may have a rack problem, that's causing the noise could be. If you're seein fluid come out the top of the power steering reservoir WITH THE CAP ON TIGHTLY, then I'd say the rack has most likely defective, as pressure and fluid are building up in the bellows and backing up. On the other hand it could be the pump itself Problem is you're there and I'm here. Don't take it upon yourself to buy or replace any parts yet. Get the Acura to a professional mechanic and have it checked out.
