Re-asked question with New info I forgot to put, 1993 ford f350 problems. The wheres it at search of sensors.

Where is the speedometer

Where is the speedometer Sensor?

On the rear of the transmission on top is a VSS (vehicle speed sensor) which I am told is not used, I do believe this to be true as there is no wire coming from the main harness to connect to it. I do believe it to be cable driven as I first got the VSS and started to replace it and not finding the connector did some research and a local mechanic told me on 4x4 those are not used and to replace the "speedometer sensor" (got this and looks to be cable driven) which is on the transfer case or differential or transmission..... he wasn't too sure without looking at the actual truck. So... after looking in all these places I am still a bit stumped because I don't see it, is it covered by a shroud or plate or inside of something?

it's on rearend
