When the engine is off, the fuel gage needle points to 5 am, and when the engine is turned on the needle points to 6 am. Also the tempure gage points to 175, then 195 when engine is turned on. What needs to be done to correct this problem?

Sounds like the instrument panel had failed.

What is the year, make, model and engine size of the vehicle?
