I have another question. Why is it that my truck throws out exhaust black in color? I just put a brand new rebuild 350 with a high performance Comp Cam, I have new pistons, lifters, rings and all. The thing is that it doesnt some times and others it dont.

The engine is running rich
The engine is running rich (burning too much fuel). Have the carburetor adjusted. This is a problem sometimes if you have a big cam. Usually can be fixed with proper carb adjustment.
