Also had new GM fuel pump put in about 7 month ago.
Are These cars bad about wire rubbing or grounding out some where ?
These cars don't have a
These cars don't have a reputation of wiring problems.
Check the fuel pump fuse and relay (can hear/feel relay click when ignition switch is turned on).
If fuses and relays are OK, remove the gas tank cap and listen for the pump to run with the key on (The pump will only receive power for about 2 seconds when the ignition switch is turned on (do not start the engine). If you can't hear it run, see if you can feel the vibrations from the pump (by placing hand on gas tank) when the switch is turned on.
If not noise or vibrations are present: Check for power to the fuel pump at the fuel pump wiring harness (unplug harness and use a test light to check for power). The pump will only receive power for about 2 seconds when the ignition switch is turned on (do not start the engine). If it recieves power for these 2 seconds, the relay is working fine. Problem may be with fuel pump--you'll have to take it off for futher checks/replacement.
