I have a 1997 Chevy Monte Carlo that ran out of gas and now it won't start. Put gas in but now it won't pick up the fuel. Replaced the fuel pump relay still nothing. Is there anything else i can try before going to the fuel pump?

you'll need to check power

you'll need to check power and ground at the fuel pump connector by the side of tank, if no power, check fuse and wiring, if you have power at the connector, plug it back togather and have some one turn the key on while you listen at the tank for the pump to hum, it should hum for a few seconds then shut off.
if no hum, probley needs pump, if it does hum, install afuel pressure gauge on the test fitting on fuel rail and check for pressure while cranking engin, should be at least 45 psi, if not or no pressure replace pump, if you do have 45 or over psi, you'll need to test the injectors next.

it's not uncommon for a pump to go bad after running dry.

Thank you I will try that.
