what would make a 92 ford taurus run hot after changing therostat

Hi, a vehicle's thermostat

Hi, a vehicle's thermostat will open at a certain temperature. The cooling system is a sealed system that builds pressure with a pump. Pressure is a very important in cooling system. The flow of coolant from radiator (where the coolant is cooled) to the engine is what prevents the vehicle from overheating. with some help of course. Build up in the cooling system like rust, cause restrictions throughout the system. This often is the cause of cooling system failures. On the topic of pressure, the water pump must be operating to it's full potential. Otherwise no pressure. Power Flush the system, get rid of any blockage. Identify any restrictions in the radiator/ system. Make sure radiator fan operation is present. The water pump must be in good working order with a strong belt. Not a bad idea to scan the pcm for coolant temp sensor codes. Don't forget to burp the system, anytime you are adding coolant, don't forget you can build air pockets in the system. You must watch the coolant level closely, and make sure the system burps.
