what would make a 92 ford taurus run hot after changing therostat

check to make shur u have no air in the lines

if the thermostat is put in the right way, you probably have air pockets in the cooling system. if there are no bleeders to purge this air, you can run the motor with the radiator cap off and watch for air purging out through the fill neck. after the bubbles have stopped, you should be fine.
